All-Inclusive Tour Shuttle Service & Salzwelten Altaussee
During the closure of the funicular and the salt mine Hallstatt, a shuttle service will be available. It conveniently takes visitors from Hallstatt directly to the Altaussee Salt Mine – and back again. On the way, you can enjoy the impressive mountain scenery of the Ausseerland before exciting adventures await at the “Mountain of Treasures.
What to expect at Salzwelten Altaussee
- Austria’s largest active salt mine
- The mysterious Barbara Chapel
- The underground salt lake
- Two long miners’ slides
- The story of the rescue of priceless stolen art treasures
- Absolutely wear warm clothing and sturdy shoes – the temperature inside the mountain is roughly 8° Celsius year-round, while the ground is very stony.
- Distance: you will walk approximately 2.5 kilometers
