Traditional Guided Barbara Tour with Blessing of the St. Barbara Twigs

Immerse yourself in the mystical depths of Salzwelten Altaussee for a special guided tour culminating in a devotional ceremony in our St. Barbara Chapel. The centerpiece of this event is the blessing of the so-called “St. Barbara Twigs”, all set to the musical backdrop of our beautifully restored Baroque-era salt mine organ. After the blessings, musicians will perform a short concert on our subterranean stage, set beside an underground lake.
Entry is free.
However, voluntary contributions for the musical highlights of the evening are very much appreciated.

Enjoy the festive atmosphere at Altaussee Salt Mine in winter. During the Christmas holidays, tours are offered daily at 5 p.m. Until the regular season gets underway in April, even after Christmas, tours are offered every Wednesday 5 p.m. In other words, nothing stands in the way of a bit of "après-ski" deep underground.
